ALC3229 Realtek Audio Codec IC

ALC3229 is a High Definition (HD) Audio Codec IC produced by Realtek Semiconductor, used in older-generation laptop and notebook motherboards. It is found in selected OEM designs from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Acer, providing stable onboard audio for everyday laptop use.

This IC handles speaker output, headphone jack detection, and microphone input. In motherboard repair cases, a defective ALC3229 commonly results in no sound, distorted or low audio, microphone not working, or headphone jack not detecting, making it a practical replacement IC for laptop audio faults.

Although part of an older ALC 32xx series, ALC3229 still sees real demand in the laptop repair market because many compatible systems are still operational.
